Unification
Thought Institute (UTI) is dedicated
to researching the philosophical and
theoretical foundations for a new culture
of peace. For nearly 30 years since
its founding on August 20, 1972, UTI
has sought the most basic solutions
to the philosophical issues that lie
at the root of the chaos in modern society.
It conducts international seminars and
symposiums where it presents its thought.
The Institute works to unify values
among different disciplines and across
the world's religions and cultures.
The core of UTI's work is the
development of Unification Thought.
Reverend Moon explains that Unification
Thought provides the standard through
which traditional religions, philosophies
and cultures can be united and the key
for solving many fundamental human problems.
In his keynote speeches at meetings
of ICUS
and IRFWP,
Reverend Moon described Unification
Thought as follows:
"Unification Thought...
is a powerful key capable of solving
any problem, no matter |
|
how
difficult it may
be. When this thought is applied
to society, various social problems
can be settled. When this thought is
applied to the world, world problems
can be realistically solved. And particularly,
when it is applied to criticizing communist
theories and theories of evolution,
all the contradictions of communism
and Darwinism are brought to light and
acounter proposal can be established.
This thought presents a new view of
life, a new view of the world, a new
view of the universe and a new view
of God's work in history. It is also
a principle of integration that can
bring different religious doctrines
and philosophies into unity, while preserving
their diverse characteristics."
UTI has published books based
its on research and proceedings of its
domestic and international Unification
Thought seminars and symposiums. The
most significant among them are Essentials
of Unification Thought and
The End
of Communism,
authored by the late Dr. Sang Hun Lee,
the first President of UTI. |
