THE WASHINGTON TIMES FOUNDATION

A sense of responsibility to the community, and the desire of The Washington Times to support their printed words with action, led the Times to establish an educational foundation for the furtherance of the ideals of family and faith.
Inspired by Reverend Sun Myung Moon and inaugurated in April of 1996, The Washington Times Foundation initiates projects and cooperates with likeminded groups to encourage members of the community, especially youth, to more fully actualize themselves and to

avoid the pitfalls of immorality, drugs and violence that rob people of their potential. The Foundation sponsors the National Service Awards, recognizing men and women throughout the United States who, inspired by the love of God and humanity, have selflessly given of themselves to the community. It sponsors an annual International Journalism Workshop. The Foundation joins with the National Council for Neighborhood Enterprise to sponsor the National Youth Summit videoconference. It supports numerous events including the International Sisterhood Ceremonies sponsored by the Women's Federation for World Peace; research activities for the Pantanal wetlands in Brazil; and the True Family Values lecture series.
