How To Achieve Love

Today's topic is "How To Achieve Love." It's a "how to" speech. As you know from the Principle, through the crucifixion, Jesus could save people only on the spiritual level. After Jesus ascended to the spiritual world, his work in the salvation process primarily centered upon the relationship between himself and the Holy Spirit. As you know, the Holy Spirit is in the mother's position. In essence, for Jesus to act with authority, he must achieve True Parentship. He must achieve an ideal position to represent the first Adam.

The ideal kingdom of God is attained through the perfection of mankind. That will happen when man and woman come under Heavenly Father and accept His ways. They must understand God's ideal of achieving love and ultimately love one another, first as brother and sister and when the time comes, in a marriage consummated under the blessing of God. From that point man can have an ideal family centered on God. That family will be magnified, creating an ideal world of goodness.

In order to restore fallen humanity, you must reestablish the position of Adam. That is why the messiah is coming. Although Christians believe Jesus attained the salvation of mankind through his crucifixion, he has to come again because his responsibility was not completely fulfilled. We need a True Parent with a physical body.

The scriptures speak of the importance of marriage. Jesus talked about it in Mark 10 and Matthew 19. He was speaking about himself in the parable of the marriage of the king's son. Marriage is important. Even Jesus wanted to achieve it but he could not. For whatever reason the Jews crucified him. I don't want to get into it right now, but you know what I mean. He never achieved marriage. He never had a wife. All the phenomenon that went on concerning the ascension of Jesus and all the spiritual phenomena that took place afterwards occurred through the relationship between him and the Holy Spirit.

That shows us the importance of True Parent's position. In order for you to be anointed by God and have the authority to use the power of God, you must be in the position of True Parents. Why? Because we have to re-establish the origin. The origin of humanity has to be established in order for us to restore the fall. The primary ancestors, Adam and Eve, were not perfected under God's principle. So according to the principle of restoration the same circumstances have to be re-established. This time around Adam and Eve have to be centered on God to achieve perfection and ultimately be blessed by Heavenly Father. That's the basis and foundation.

How is this relevant with respect to man and the spirit world where angels exist? How does the three part relationship between God, man and the angels work? Who are we? We have to understand who we are and the purpose of creation in order for us to be perfected under Heavenly Father. Ultimately we have the right and authority to have dominion over creation as well as over the world of angels.

Man was made in the image of God. We believe we are physical and at the same time, spiritual beings. All of us have, not just physical bodies, but spiritual bodies as well. The important thing is that through responsibility we attain perfection. However, the original mind is always connected to Heavenly Father. What does this tell us? Father always says that though we are fallen men we have an original mind. In other words, we were made in the image of God. Every one of us is a particle of God Himself. Every individual here bears his own uniqueness and is a representation of God Himself.

The Principle talks about the importance of sungsang and hyungsang relationship. Sungsang has to be in the subject position and hyung sang has to be in the object position. The original mind that we all bear is literally a particle of God. Based on that, through our own responsibility, physical ability and intellectual ability, we were to adopt that original spiritual body. In Hebrews 8 God talks about Jesus as the son. It says the son has authority over this world. He has the right to the throne of God. He told his son, "Me scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom." What does that mean? You must understand what is right.

The primary ancestors of mankind, Adam and Eve, fell. They should have known what was right. What was right was to unite with God, but they fell. They did not realize what was right. The scepter of God's kingdom is righteousness. There is right and wrong. Man was to separate what was right from what was wrong. What is right is centered on love. just as God absolutely needed man's presence to achieve the ideal kingdom of love, man needed to have the same desire and yearning for God. In Him lies the key of love. The principle of love was derived from God.

Everybody in this room posses a portion of God. Our ability to procreate is a literal affirmation of the eternal quality of Heavenly Father within the principle of love. It is a complete testimony. It is a very tangible, substantial testimony of how eternal love can dwell within the kingdom of God on earth.

When man achieves this perfection centered on God and realizes the principle of love, he is in the position to be united through marriage to attain oneness within this physical world. Ultimately when this husband and wife ascend to the spiritual world, they are literally, absolutely one with God. Why? Because man started as a part of God. Man is literally a little part of God which needs to perfect himself just as God has done. Every individual represents God. You could say every individual is God. However, you have to perfect yourself because you have been given an individual form and body. You have to perfect yourself through your physical form achieving perfection you can properly be part of Heavenly Father. Once you achieve the separation from evil and achieve righteousness centering on God's principle, you can become God. You are God. Amidst humanity, the sea of divine beings, True Parents are the representation of the origin of God. You must have the origin of God.

Once we attain perfection, we are one with God, our Father in the kingdom of heaven. The multitude of angels that exist within the angelic world represent the body. They are to be the object of an ever-growing humanity. Father always said, once man is perfected God will create a partner for the angels. God will anoint the angels with a partner. Unless man is perfected, an angelic being as object does not have the authority to consummate a marriage and multiply. The angels exist to harmoniously balance the eternally growing multitude of humanity. People talk about this guardian angel fairy tale, but it has a certain degree of relevance. Everybody has a spiritual object. Once you achieve perfection through marriage as a man and woman, you are a perfected being. That perfected being also needs a body, an ideal object. That ideal object is the angels.

What went wrong in the scheme of creation? The archangel was in the Position to see man perfect himself. At the same time man was in the object's position but the archangel did not put himself in the position to love man.

Think about it, when you look at your wife and she looks at you, you both realize the same thing: "The only way that I can achieve love is through you, and vice versa." What is indirectly being said is that my fate, my perfection, lies in your hands and your fate lies in mine. The angel should have accepted that concept of his fate belonging not to himself but to another. The perfection of angels and the perfection of man laid not in the hands of themselves, but of one another. The archangel had to realize his position as an object to mankind and make sure that man was perfected centered on God. Why? Because his perfection lay in the perfection of man. If he would have thought of that, what would have tempted him? But he couldn't think about that. He couldn't accept the fact that his fate and his perfection lay in the hands of this miserable little young person. He just couldn't deal with that. Here was this old wise angel. He helped God create the world. He knew the Principle better than Adam. He was God like in a sense. He obviously had greater knowledge. He had to have greater knowledge in a huge sense to tempt somebody and Adam was stupid enough to fall for his temptation. I bet the temptation was great. The archangel knew everything. He knew how the mind of this stupid numskull called Adam ticked. He knew how he worked. Since the archangel knew the adolescent mind of Adam, he could manipulate Adam and that's why he fell.

Putting yourself in the position to say, "My fate of my love and perfection lies in the hands of my wife (or husband)" is the beginning of the achievement of love. Last week we talked about matrix and afterwards I gave a small example to the blessed children. I said we need an ideal physical form and an ideal spiritual and intellectual matrix as well. What does this mean in relation to sexuality? I'm concerned about this now because many of them are in puberty. How do you address sexuality? Why do you have that kind of desire and drive? Why does that phenomenon go on? We need certain examples. Once you have a positive mind toward something, even a bad example or bad experience can be analyzed in a positive manner and be useful. Let's say you had a bad experience in communicating with a business associate. You had a bad experience because of your lack of eloquence or preparation and certain things folded; maybe the possibility of making a contract was nullified because of your lack of preparation. If you try to learn from that bad experience you can take it for your own benefit. You can get something out of it.

We all have experience in witnessing and in dealing with Christians. Many times they were bad experiences because of our shortcomings, not knowing enough scripture and not being able to recite verses in a instant with tremendous eloquence. This caused us to lose these people. But through that experience you can learn, "Okay. for me to get through to that type of person, I need to sharpen my memory and use certain passages of the scripture." All these things can be seen in a very positive way. Sexuality too.

Why do you have that kind of desire? Father tells us first we have to achieve brotherly love, then conjugal love and then parental love. The sexual desire of physical yearning is a reference point to teach you how you have to achieve love. As strong as the desire might be, can you love your brother or sister with the same intensity? Can you love your fellow man like that? Does that desire just exist so you can have sex? You should be able to achieve love within a family setting with that kind of intensity. You should be able to love your brother with that same intensity. In that respect, my brother Heung Jin Nim really loved his brothers and sisters with his heart.

That's the point. We have to try to understand, even intellectually: sexual desire exists so we can understand the intensity we must achieve in order to attain love for humanity. We have to love humanity as God does. That's the strength and magnitude of God's desire for perfected man. We must have some sense of how strongly God desires the perfection of man. You can understand through your sexuality.

Is there a pervert in this place? Well, God's desire for perfected man is stronger than a perverts desire to achieve sexual pleasure. Did you ever have a sexual thought so strong that you just couldn't control yourself? God feels the pain that you feel in the effort to abstain. With that same intensity God controls His pain, the indescribable emotion that goes on within His heart looking at this fallen world. Man is still acting in a fallen way and not receiving True Parents. So you all know how God feels. I'm sure that everyone in this room at one time or another has felt that intensity.

That is another example of how we can learn about God's heart. God has an ideal for humanity. His ideal can't be manifested on this earth. You can understand it. Think about the intensity of your perverted thoughts when you desire sexual things. Think about the worst day you had controlling yourself during puberty and multiply it by millions of years. Then you can probably get a sense of how God is feeling. We need to find some way within this physical form to understand how God feels. Through experience we ourselves have to understand what God is feeling.

I don't have to talk long. What do I need to say? I told you how to achieve love. The way to achieve love is to look at your spouse as your fate. Your perfection lies in her hands. My fate lies in her hands. And the intensity with which you desire to achieve that love lies within your own self. Everyone has had that emotional experience that I just described. You've all felt it. You have to translate it in an ideal manner. That is why you have intellectual ability. That is your responsibility. That is your portion of creating a foundation to become a part of God. Turn that desire for selfish love into love for one another. Love for the sake of other people. That is the essence. That is everything. Everything else is just a bunch of crap.

Ask yourself, "Did I love my wife that much?" Did you really think about your husband's salvation? You have to be able to think about that. All of us. That is the litmus test. I want to love humanity so much, even to the extent that I am going to change fallen people. I'm going to just rip all the sins out of them and liberate their original mind. I don't care what it takes, I will do it. I'll liberate people from their Own sin.

That's why we have to draw on the environment. Yesterday I saw Today's World, with Father's message and direction. Father emphasized we have to take control over the environment. We have to take over the fallen environment in order to recreate the environment that was here first; an ideal one. That is perfectly logical. Because of this decadent American environment the world is going down. It is destroying the second generation world wide. America is a place where even a people with very perverted ideas can succeed. Once someone becomes successful, they create more problems. Do you know why? Because we all strive to achieve perfection. Because fallen people don't know the spiritual self and are blind to all except the physical world, they see only physical greatness and physical greatness takes many different forms. Different things are stressed as greatness according to the environment. Because America is a perverted place, the land of the sinful, godless, "free" people, American people have created a completely distorted society. all across the nation. God didn't bless this nation because you are so great.

We are a religious organization. What is religion? We have a certain doctrine and ideals. We're here to introduce this idea to the rest of humanity. In essence, our responsibility is to propagate the ideal. How do you go about that? We need a media in which we can propagate the ideal to humanity. It is stupid if, as a religious group, we don't think about having dominion over the media which can proclaim these words. We can project these words and transmit them all over.

Several days ago I saw a television show which had a segment about all these bad Christian television evangelists. Did you see it? That is what happens, but it is good. Those people are wolves wearing sheep's clothing. Because the time is right, God is going to smite all these corrupt people. Once they are all destroyed, nullified and diminished, then only true Christians who really believe in and go by the word of Jesus, and who try to live his word, will rise up. These others live by their own arrogance, always interpreting in order to justify their own selfish gain or agenda. But those people who are living for the sake of the world respect what Father has done. These people will rise up and all the wolves will be smashed.

When that time comes, we have to be ready. It's coming very soon. We have to be ready to talk with these people and communicate with them on a daily basis. Prepare for those days. We are a religious organization, a church. Do you understand what I am saying? We need some ability to speak to these people. It is very, very important. We can save Christianity. We can save Jesus' sacrifice. The world will be a great place. Restoration will be perfected.

It is good to get all those liars and thieves out. God is cleaning His house. We should applaud. I feel sorry for those guys. You literally see them dying in front of you. Their careers are absolutely demolished. They look pathetic and you have pity for them. I'm sorry, but you get what's coming to you. These guys really tried to crucify Father. And what did they do in turn, behind the backs of their congregation? It's all been exposed. If you want to know just look at ABC. Its very pathetic.

I hate the English language. Father has two hundred volumes of speeches. Sooner or later all of you have to read them before you die. I don't like reading. When I was growing up I was forced to read everyday. I read because I couldn't go out. I couldn't mingle with Satan's children and they wouldn't let me play with blessed children. I had to be good in school, so I was locked up in my room every day. So I read all the books I needed when I was young! Sometimes I read two books a day. This was in elementary school. When I came to America I was liberated from all that coercion. I said never again will I touch books! Childhood education is very important Anyway, you all have to read Father's words. In all seriousness, it would be ideal if you can read them in Father's language. Someone will translate them, probably me. I will probably translate all Father's words, but it would be ideal if you could read them in Father's own language. It's not Korean, it's Father's language. Don't think of it as the Korean language. Let's get that terminology clear. We're trying to learn, not Korean tradition, but Father's tradition. Do you understand? We have to achieve one family, one ideal human family centered on True Parents. Think about it in that way and learn Father's language. Forget this Korean language misnomer. Its Father's language.

I want to become a filial son. My name "Hyo" means filial piety. I want to live up to my name. just as God bestowed certain responsibility onto the shoulders of Adam, Father has placed a certain load on me and that is to achieve filial piety. I will do whatever it takes. If I'm not a filial son, how can I look at my Father? He will die sooner or later; he's not going to live here forever. When I'm sitting next to his death bed looking at him, as he is ready to enter the spirit world, I want him to say to me, "Son, I believe everything is in good hands. I leave here without worries, with a heart that is calm and without sorrow and pain." I want to hear that. So whatever it takes to make that day come, I will do it before he dies. Nobody will stop me.

I think it's the only way. Honestly I'm tired of doing what I'm doing, but I'm going to try to burn as hot as I can. I know if you do that you won't last long, but I will do it. We all have to pledge that. We all have to be determined to give everything and invest everything. Father said invest everything so here I am. I'll give forever. I'll give and take with God forever. I can return, for your sake, forever. I will give you to God and True Parents forever because I know you are going to do the same. If you can put yourself in that position, you are or you can be a man who understands the Principle of love.

That is all I can say. What more do I need to say? Let's try to bring victory. Unlike other places in the world, America is affluent. Yes, you are having a very difficult time economically, but in comparison to the rest of the world you are doing fine. You're in a very good position. You have great advantage and great wealth. The thing is, once you have this kind of wealth and are living in this kind of environment where there is abundance of wealth and physical things, it is very difficult to get through to people. They are preoccupied. This preoccupation is our disease. If they were preoccupied with godly things, that would be fine. But they are preoccupied with satanic things. That is the problem. They are preoccupied with fornication, drugs, money, power and all these wrong things. They are idolizing the wrong things. They are preoccupied with satanic idols. How do we separate them from this wrong and sinful preoccupation? We have to achieve greatness and that is why I say we have to achieve perfection in our own ways.

I read your letters, they are great. All of us have to reach a certain point where we can make a difference in this world, where we can be revered, even idolized by this world. In turn you idolize Heavenly Father and True Parents. Perfect yourself in your own craft and field.

We have one brother from Australia who is a musical prodigy. He is a great composer. He is very famous in Australia. He just recently joined and is under David Eaton. He is working under Manhattan Center. He's been talked about many times in the newspapers. People really respect him. I read many articles that Joe gave me. He goes out and he talks about Father's things and Father's word. He was quoted in the "saying of the week". It's great, that's what Father wants and needs. That is what we have to do, then we can change America.

Another reason that I want to get into cultural arts is because it gives joy to people. That's everything in America. That's everything in a wealthy part of the world. Do you understand? In many ways we have to prepare, but this field is one we really haven't tapped yet. Unfortunately, we're still spawning. But we'll keep growing and once this done, once the affluent part of the world is controlled, we'll have no problem. We have to think big! Once you start to change public opinion, the concepts of the masses, then even our missionary work in America will be much easier. We've got to deal with this. In every way you look at it, it is necessary. We all have to get involved and pitch in. Give me your ability. Give me everything. Perfect it and give it to me and I'll dedicate it to True Parents. I'm pleading with you. We'll change America, no problem.

So, it is very important to separate from your fallen self. You have to make an offering and that offering is your everything. All of your self has to be offered. If you don't lay that kind of sacrificial offering condition, you cannot be redeemed. You cannot be worthy of the blessing. You've been given a new blood, that means you are absolutely offering everything to True Parents. That is the meaning of the blessing: receiving new blood. You have to offer everything that you have gained anew, your new self. Understand? So do it. Make that complete effort. If everyone in this room can do it, we will change America.

Just one hour of television killed those Christian television evangelicals. A one hour program killed them. In one hour their life has been destroyed. Think about the possibility in the opposite direction, what can be done in one hour! They're gone and dead.

I feel great because I'm going to have a television studio soon. We already have the biggest audio studio in the western hemisphere. It's ours, we should be proud of it. We can make incredible music. Do you like the Beat the Devil album? If I can do that from scratch in one month, think of the possibility of creating something in three months from the stable of talent that we have at the Manhattan Center. We will make everything better than Satan. It will be more powerful, more intense, more fast, more subtle, more dynamic. We'll kill him in his own game.

I'm finishing up my next album. It has twelve songs on it. It's called Bag 'Em and Tag 'Em. There is a deer antler on the cover. I have one more album left and then I'm finished with this music thing. Then I'm onto video. I feel the future is exciting. It's painful right now, but it's exciting because it is going to happen. You have to pitch in. You have to pay your dues. All the sacrifice will pay off. I know it. I know when the time comes my son will be blessed, too. He'll have a wife and children. He will be able to spend more time with his kids than I have. And so will your children. Yesterday was my daughter's birthday, but I had to work to finish this album. It's nothing compared to Father's life and I know that. It is the one thing that keeps me going. When people look at me I want them to be able to say, "Mat kid really loved Father. He tried his best." I want people to think that. I think that is the best justice I can do for the life that Father gave to me.

We have to think about history. We have to be responsible for history and think about the future. Let's all be responsible, okay?
